Dr. Jiri Tlusty of VUOSO-Prague develops Theory of Self-Excited Vibrations

1971 - MACHINE TOOL STRUCTURES

Tlusty publishes Machine Tool Structures

1985 - MACHINE TOOL RESEARCH CENTER (MTRC)

Tlusty founds MTRC at the University of Florida

1987 - MLI FOUNDED

Manufacturing Laboratories, Inc. (MLI) was started in 1987 by Jiri Tlusty, Scott Smith and Tom Delio in Gainesville, Florida

1990 - PTP GRAPHS

Introduction of unique PTP graphs for chatter evaluation and generation of lobing diagram

1991 - CPA

Phase II Air Force Spindle award results in development of first comprehensive Cutting Performance Analyzer (CPA) DOS Based.

1992 - CRAC

First commercially installed Chatter vibration monitoring and AVOIDANCE package delivered to Makino customer (trademark CRAC for Chatter Avoidance and recognition system)

1992 - MTDA

CPA renamed MTDA and marketed to OEM manufacturers

1992 - SPA AND MILSIM

Spindle Analysis (SPA) Package and Milling Simulation (MilSim) packages delivered to automotive customers.

1996 - METALMAX AND HARMONIZER

Overall redesign of MTDA system to Windows platform. Renamed MetalMAX. System contains PC based CRAC system called Harmonizer®

1997 - PROACC

PROACC Service begun for delivering consulting based services using the MetalMAX system

1998 - SIM MODULE

State of the Art signal interface module (SIM) developed for MetalMAX product

1999 - MANUFACTURING PROCESSES AND EQUIPMENT

Tlusty publishes Manufacturing Processes and Equipment

2001 - CHIPS

ProACC renamed CHiPS service after CHiPS dynamic tool management system

2001 - AMRC

MLI founding partner of the Advanaced Manufacuring Research Center (AMRC) in Sheffield, England

1991 - CPA

Delio, Smith and Barton found BlueSwarf to commercialized MLI technologies

2003 - NCDMM

MLI selected to present at the GE Emerging Technologies exhibit at IMTS

2008 - BOEING SELECTS MLI FOR IMTS

MLI chosen by Boeing to exhibit in their Advanced Manufacturing Center at IMTS
